I conducted a weight loss test using Ring Fit Adventure for the first month.

If you've never played Ring Fit Adventure, you'd be surprised at how closely the game's design mimics that of professional fitness software. For example, the game prompts you to do a warm-up before each session and a cool-down afterwards.

If you're using Ring Fit Adventure for weight loss, I highly recommend doing both of these things. Warming up can help to prevent injuries, while cooling down can help to relax and recover your muscles.

In addition, the game provides helpful tips about exercise and nutrition after each session.

During the actual gameplay, Ring Fit Adventure features multiple "worlds" with multiple mission levels. The exercises involved in these levels are common in fitness routines, such as crunches, lunges, jumping jacks, and squats. In essence, the game provides a simple workout plan while you're "battling" enemies.

As for workout duration, I mentioned earlier that I recommend working out four times per week for 20-30 minutes each time. During my experience with Ring Fit Adventure, I generally kept my workouts to around 30 minutes. However, I always finished the most recent level before quitting, even if I had already worked out for 30 minutes. This usually added 2-3 minutes to my workout time.

It's important to note that the game's timer only records the time during which you are actively exercising. If you stand still in the game, the timer will not continue to count.

Here are the results of my weight loss test after one month:

  • Starting weight: 66.4 kg
  • Ending weight: 65.6 kg
  • Weight loss: 0.8 kg
  • Starting body fat percentage: 17.9%
  • Ending body fat percentage: 17.4%
